The School of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences (IAS) at the University of Washington Bothell (UWB) seeks dynamic educators to teach rhetoric and composition. We seek candidates with expertise in contemporary best practices in the teaching of writing, experience working with interdisciplinary and portfolio-based curricula, and demonstrated success in teaching first-year composition to students who come with varying levels of preparation and from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Individuals familiar with best practices in writing assessment, writing program administration, writing across the curriculum, and/or anti-racist or intersectional pedagogies are particularly encouraged to apply. The primary responsibilities of these positions will be teaching first-year composition, but they may also teach one or two other courses within the First Year and Pre-major Program (FYPP) and/or IAS. Record of teaching excellence, evidence of engagement with current scholarship, demonstrated commitment to working with diverse student and community populations, and a Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Composition or related field are required at time of appointment. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. The position is a 9 -month appointment, 100 % FTE.

IAS houses eighteen undergraduate and graduate programs, is located in the Seattle metropolitan area, and provides faculty members with access to the research and funding resources of the entire UW system.
