Delaware County Community College, a competency-based institution, committed to diversity invites applications for the Director, Paralegal Programs in the Public Service Social Science department.
The Director will provide administrative leadership and teach courses as the division continues to develop the Paralegal program. The successful applicant will be an individual who will coordinator the Paralegal Studies program and teach academic courses in that program. This is a 12 –month position and reports directly to the Dean of the Public Services and Social Science Division.
Primary responsibilities includes but not limited to defining major program objectives and review courses and oversee the development and improvement of curricula for the paralegal program.*; Assist in developing distance learning for paralegal program and represent the program throughout the administrative and academic structure of the institution.*; Respond to student, faculty, departmental and administration questions regarding the program; Assist and facilitate hiring, supervision and retention of qualified faculty and conduct faculty meetings at least two times during the academic year and create faculty professional development opportunities; Teach a course or courses in the program semester.*; Determine the financial needs of the program and, with assistance, formulate the program budget.*; Ensure personal professional development through active participation in educational
programs and membership in professional associations including American Association for
Paralegal Education and its conferences.*; Relate course assessment outcomes to program goals.*; In partnership with other college offices, assess graduate and employer opinions regarding
the program.*; Advice program students regarding program curriculum requirements.*; Recruit and Lead the Advisory Board that will support the program, ensuring its proper organization and operation and conduct Advisory Board meetings at least two times during the academic year.*; Organize the program to meet the defined ABA standards in preparation for the ABA Approval Process.*; Recruit students into the certificate program and AAS programs; Other duties as assigned; * indicates the job duties and responsibilities to meet ABA approval guidelines.
