Who Is Tyler Perry?

Tyler Perry is a very talented and successful playwright, screenwriter, actor, comedian, producer, director, and more. His plays have grossed over $50 million in the United States, and his films have grossed more than $500 million worldwide.
Many people are unaware that Tyler Perry's real name is Emmett Perry, and that he stands 6 feet 6 inches tall. Born in New Orleans, but currently residing in Atlanta, he was a high school drop out, but did eventually obtain his GED.
Perry has millions of fans worldwide - black and white - that love his work. Not only has he set records for independent theater and movies, he also has dominated cable television. His show "House of Payne" that airs on TBS was at one point the most watched cable sitcom ever. The show was so successful that he launched a spin-off "Meet The Browns" just three years later. This too has won the favor of his fans and followers.
